The RHAPSODY Hip-Hop Summer Arts Camp provides a summer learning experience like no other. The camp draws on PAA’s 16 years of expertise in innovating arts-integrated education.
Using Hip-Hop to Empower Youth
Celebrating its 16th year, RHAPSODY Hip-Hop Summer Arts Camp: Recognizing Hip-Hop As a Powerful Source Of Development for Youth is a nationally-recognized arts education initiative that builds students’ 21st century skills in collaboration, leadership, and problem solving through rigorous workshops in music, art, poetry and dance. The camp’s technology-rich activities enable youth to learn in and through the arts while examining the history, context, and art forms of hip-hop culture.
Programming takes place in two parts. The “feeder” camp program introduces students to beginning skills in each art form through our Community Hip-Hop Camps. Camp instructors then select the most promising students from each feeder location to participate in the invitation-only annual camp held for two weeks in August.
